N.D.(NewsDakota.com) The opening of the District II Boys Basketball Tournament saw all of the high seeds pick up the wins. 

G1: #4 Enderlin 77  #5 Richland 48

In the day’s opening game, the Enderlin Eagles started paving their way to the Regiona 1 tournament with a dominating win over Richland. After defeating the Colts in the regular season by five points. the Eagles left no doubt as to who was going to move onto the semifinals. 

In the opening half of play, Enderlin’s Grahm Hurlburt owned both the lane and the perimeter posting 15 points through the first 16 minutes of play. He would finish the night with a game high 20 points, going 2-for-3 from behind the arch and 7-of-8 from the field.

After scoring just two points in the first half, Enderlins Dalton Anderson was all over the court in the second frame posting 11 points to finsh with the games second highest total at 13 points.  

The Colts were led on the score sheet by Alec Heesch’s 11 points.

 

 

The loss gives the Colts day off on Saturday. They will play on Monday night in the regional qualifier. The Eagles will play Northern Cass on Saturday at 6:00pm for the chance to play in the final. That game can be heard on Q101, 101.1FM.

Christian Adams led the Grovers past the Vikings with 29 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. 

 

Fletcher Andel posted a team high 22 points for the Kindred.

Maple Valley 54 #3 Central Cass 65

 

 

 

The Raiders went blow for blow with the Squirrels, but the game got away from them in the third quarter when Central Cass out scored Maple Valley 20-9. That 11 points proved to be the difference in the game.

 

 

In the opening half Central Cass’ Grady Bresnahan dropped 17 points on the Raiders. He would go on to finish the night with a game high 26 points.

 

 

The Raiders out rebounded the Squirrels 26-21, but they managed just 47 percent from the field. Central Cass ended the game 52 percent from the field. 

 

 

 

Maple Valley was led by Eliot Preston’s 13 points. Dustin Kasowski had 10 points in the loss.

 

 

The Raiders will play Kindred Saturday afternoon in the days only elimination game. You can hear it starting 4:15pm on Q101, 101.1 fm.
