N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Maple Valley Raiders picked up their 20th win of the season on Thursday night over Central Cass 59-42 claiming third place in the Region 1 Girls Basketball Tournament.

The Raiders end the season with a 20-5 overall record. They were 4-2 in District 2 play this season. Central Cass finishes the year with an 11-13 overall records. They too were 4-2 in league play.

Maple Valley opened the game on a 10-1 run behind two three-pointers from senior guard, Katie Pautz. While Central Cass would get to within two points of their District 2 rivals by the end of the quarter, they would never find their way into the lead.  Pautz would finish the game with 15 points.

Rylee Nudell posted a game high 27 points for Maple Valley. Central Cass was led on the score sheet by Jessie Roesler’s 14 points. Macie Romsdal posted 13 points in the loss.

Kindred remained undefeated to win the Region 1 Tournament with a 64-61 win over Fairmount-Campbell-Tintah. Kindreds Alexandra Erickson led the game in scoring with 12 points.

The Vikings take their 24-0 record into the state tournament next weekend in Minot.
