CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The annual North Dakota Winter Show Classic Steer & Market Hog Auction was held March 4 in the basement of the Valley City Eagles.

Two premium records were set during the 2015 auction as Danny Galbreath 1,211 pound steer sold for $2.75 a pound for a $1,393 premium. Plains Grains & Agronomy was the buyer. The base price on the cattle was $1.60 per pound.

Lynsey Galbreath’s 1,301 pound steer sold for $2.45. The premium $1,106. Daniel Lund was the buyer.

Danny Galbreath had another steer that weighed 1,195 pounds it sold for $2.20 per pound. The premium was $717. The buyer, Circle Diamond Ranch of Mandan.

Lacey Schmitz had a 1,253 pound steer that sold for $2.60 per pound. The premium $1,253. Buyer Valley City Eagles Club.

Lynsey Schmitz had a 1,236 pound steer that sold for $2.25 per pound. The premium $804. The buyer Miller Elevator.

Gabe Quandt sold a 1,294 pound steer for $2.25 per pound. The premium was $841. The buyer Tim Logan of Fair Hills Properties. Quandt also had another 1,312 pound steer that sold for $2.25 per pound. The premium $853. Kevin Elliot the buyer.

Levi Elliot sold a 1,245 pound steer for $2.40 per pound. The premium $996. The buyer Gary Irhy.

Hog Market Auction base price was .50 cents per pound. Here are the results:

Lynsey Schmitz sold a 300 pound hog for a record $3.10 per pound to James Valley Grain and Hoffman Irrigation.

Lindsey Galbreath sold 225 pound hog for $2.65 per pound to Daniel Lund.

Dawson Steichon sold a 315 pound hog for $2.65 per pound to Croft production and Central Ag.

Paige Zimprich sold a 316 pound hog for $2.10 per pound to Valley Meat Supply.

Jayce Zimprich sold a 252 pound hog for $2.30 per pound to Ben Jacobs.

Lizze McLeod sold a 247 pound hog for $285 per pound to Instad Family Media.

Lindsey Galbreath sold a 230 pound hog for $2.50 per pound to Dick Nelson Sales and Leasing.

And Haley McLeod sold a 247 pound hog for $3 per pound to Plains Grains & Agronomy.
