CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City State men’s basketball team has announced that they will play Marquette University, out of the Big East, next year. The game will take place on November 9th and will be played at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Marquette is an NCAA Division I basketball team that has played in the Final Four three time, and won the National Championship in 1977. The program has produced a number of NBA player, including 3-time NBA champion Dewayne Wade.

While the game will be a big opportunity for many of the Vikings players, it will be particularly special for sophomore Elwood Ellenson who’s brothers play for the Golden Eagles. Ellwood’s older bother Wally transferred from the University of Minnesota to play for Marquette last year. Younger brother Henry committed to play for coach Steve Wojciechowski’s team earlier this year.

The game at Marquette will be an exhibition for the Vikings and will not count on their record in the 2015-2016 season.
