CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) “Junior” is a licensed therapy dog working in the Valley City school district and is loved by nearly everyone.

The 10 year old yellow lab and his handler, Alaine Toso, a Title One Reading teacher, will retire at the end of the school year. Toso says “Junior” has been working with her in the school district for 8 years.

Toso said the stress relief that “Junior” provides for students and staff members has been beneficial to everyone.

Toso said her experience as a teacher along with her companion “Junior” has been very rewarding for her and the students.

Alaine Toso plans to continue being a substitute teacher following her retirement this spring. She and husband Bob Toso plan to do a lot more traveling. Bob Toso worked as a principal and superintendent in the Jamestown School District for several years before his retirement.
