(NewsDakota.com) After losing their first five Class B Region I baseball games the boys from LaMoure-Litchville/Marion picked up win number one on Thursday with a 7-6 victory against Oakes at Townsend Field.

The Loboes were able to earn their first win due to lasting pitching as well as errors by the visitors. LLM’s Anthony Olson threw all seven innings, allowing seven hits, while striking out four. Five of the six outs registered in the sixth and seventh innings were ground outs right back to Olson. Offensively, Olson had a triple, an single and drove in two runs.

The Tornadoes committed four errors in the field, and had two players pick up five of their seven hits. Bryce Meehl had two triples, and Ethan Zetocha had three hits and scored twice. 

Oakes (2-2 Class B Region I) suits up again on Monday with a date against Northern Cass, while the Loboes (1-5) will seek their first win Friday against the only other team without a victory in the region; Central Cass.
