N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Steele, ND woman has been charged with forgery after attempting to cash a check from a KEM Electric account.

40 year-old Michelle Biegler presented a check in the amount of $250,000 on February 20th to a bank in Steele. Biegler was employed by a client of KEM Electric in Mandan, where she had access to the account information. A portion of the check went towards a new home and the remaining amount was deposited into a bank account.

On February 24th, KEM Electric learned of the forged check and contacted law enforcement. Biegler has been charged with Forgery and is currently being held at the Morton County Correctional Center.

Additional charges are pending in Kidder County.
