Sandness, 87, of LaMoure, ND, passed away April 23, 2015, at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 with a prayer service starting at 7 at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure, ND. Margaret’s funeral will be Wednesday at 11 at Zoar Lutheran Church, LaMoure, ND. Her burial will follow at High Prairie Lutheran Cemetery near LaMoure.

Margaret Botner, daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Nelson) Botner was born January 31, 1928 at the Marion Hospital, Marion, ND. She attended Gladstone #3 Grade School and graduated from LaMoure High School. She was united in marriage to Sigvart Sandness on June 22, 1947 at High Prairie Lutheran Church. They made their home on the family farm until 1972, when they sold the farm and moved to LaMoure. On September 14, 1973 Margaret began employment at Colonial Manor in LaMoure, which later became St. Rose Care Center, and worked there for 28 years before retiring on May 30, 2002. Sig passed away on September 20, 2009. Margaret became a resident of St. Rose Care Center in December of 2013.

Margaret was a member of High Prairie Lutheran Church, where she had been organist for many years. She was also a member of the Pearl Lake Homemakers Club for 25 years.

She is survived by three children, Steve Sandness and Becky (Rodney) Roscoe all of LaMoure, and Laurie (Jerry) Rott, Bakersfield, CA; a sister, Arlene Lauf; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sig, a son Christopher, grandson Mark, and her brothers Buddy and Albert Jr.
