N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Even with rain and some moisture that has been received in the area, burning is still only allowed with approval for North Dakota residents.

Today’s fire danger index rating for Stutsman, Kidder, Foster, Eddy, Griggs, Barnes, Logan, Lamoure, McIntosh and Dickey counties is moderate. Governor Jack Dalrymple’s declared fire emergency that was distributed on April 1st remains in effect through April 30th. The order bans burning in any area designated as High, Very High, or Extreme or when a Red Flag Warning has been issued.

According to the release, burning is allowed only if prior approval is received from local fire authorities and emergency officials.
