ND – A Rutland man was injured after he rolled an International semi hauling a flatbed trailer with hazardous material into a Sargent County slough yesterday just before 5 o’clock.

The Highway Patrol says the flatbed trailer had approximately 2800 gallons of liquid fertilizer with insecticide around 250 bushels of treated corn. The load was dumped into the slough and the containers were broken.

The driver of the International 66 year-old Steven Wyum had a cut on his head and his eyes were burning from the fertilizer. He was transported to the Oakes hospital for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation.
