N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The recent heavy rain received in the James River Valley has caused the James River to rise near LaMoure.

According to LaMoure County Emergency Manager Kimberly Robbins, The Hydro Alert issued today indicates that the river is predicted to crest near the action flood stage of 11.4 ft on Wednesday, May 20th.

“This is significant as the last time the James River near LaMoure reached these levels was in the year 2011.” Robbins pointed out.

The river levels are predicted to decrease by Saturday, May 23rd to around 10 ft. Robbins is warning individuals living near the James River to stay aware of the temporary increased river levels and increased flow rates.
