Trader, Sr., age 92, of Valley City died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. JoAnne Moeller officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday at the church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM.  Burial with Military Honors will be in the Oriska Cemetery, Oriska, ND  at 1 PM Saturday.

Albert was born on October 8, 1922 to Charles and Emma(Priebe) Trader, near Oriska. Albert was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran of Oriska, and attended and graduated from Oriska Public Schools.  Albert did odd jobs around the area until joining the Army in January of 1946, where he was deployed to Japan.  After leaving the Army in March of 1947, Albert worked at Yellowstone National Park, and did odd jobs around the area.

On June 7th, 1956, Albert married Jeannette (Jean) Thoreson in Forsyth, Montana.  While living in the Valley City/Oriska area, Albert worked for John Deere dealerships in Valley City, Lisbon and Casselton, until his retirement at the age of 65, at which time he worked for Interstate Equipment in Valley City.

Albert and Jean had six children.  Albert’s pride and joy are his 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, which put the sparkle in his eyes.

Albert is survived by 2 brothers, Leroy, Carrington, ND, and Fred in Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Verna Thoreson, Valley City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Phyliss and Edmund Storhoff, Enderlin, ND; children, Judy (Wendell) Horne, Hallsville, TX, Becky (Brian) Strum, Fargo, ND, Albert Jr. (Sandy), Carrington, ND, Cindy (Tim) Siegel, Moorhead, MN, and Terry (Judy) Trader, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Johnny Horne, Jason Horne, Wendy Ackerman, Matthew Klinger, Daniel Klinger, Melissa Miller, Abby Smith, Jessica Siegel, Nicole Siegel, Lindsey Trader, Taylor Trader, Becky Gunn, and Chris Gunn.  Also surviving Albert are his 16 great grandchildren; Alexis and Mattie Horne, Samanatha and Nicolas Horne, Zach, Hannah and Adam Ackerman, Julian Klinger, Allan Michael Klinger, Travis Miller, William, Isaic, Megan and Wyatt Churchman, Anthony Smith, and Jariah Tanazy.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife Jean, daughter Linda (Gene) Klinger, son-in-law Wendell Horne, his parents, sisters Irma Swanke, Eleanor Martinson, Mae Triebold, and Dorothy Young, and brothers Art, Carl, Earl and Donald.

Albert had a great wit that will be dearly missed; he sold raffle tickets, rang bells and did Meals on Wheels for 20 years.
