ROCKFORD, ND. (Newsdakota.com)  After two postponements due to poor weather conditions, the 2015 Region 3 Class B High School Baseball Tourney finally started two days later on Wednesday with four games.  All of the higher seeds lived up to their rankings by earning victories on opening day.  See below for scores and highlights.

LAKOTA/EDMORE 6 DAKOTA PRAIRIE 3

Jon Skjervheim picked up the complete game victory allowing three runs on 12 hits and 10 strikeouts and only one walk as the Raiders beat the Knights of Dakota Prairie for the second time this year.  Ethan Gillett took the loss.  DP left 11 runners on base while LE stranded 7.  

SHEYENNE/NEW ROCKFORD 14 MEDINA/PINGREE/BUCHANAN 2, 5 innings

Five batters had two hits each to help the Blacksox beat the Thunder for the third time this year.  SNR sent 13 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning alone and scored nine runs.

CARRINGTON 13 SHEYENNEY/NEW ROCKFORD 5

The number eight batter in the order for Carrington, Lucas Geiszler went 3-for-3 at the plate to help the Cardinals beat the Blacksox in the last game of the day yesterday.

1230pm – Dakota Prairie vs. Sheyenne/New Rockford (elimination game)

3pm – Midkota vs. Carrington

530pm – The winners of the first 2 games will meet
