N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Northern Plain’s Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up program is seeking individuals or organizations that need assistance.

Since its inception in 1998, Operation Round Up has helped premature babies, cancer patients, victims of flood and fire as well as schools, libraries and food pantries. Funding for the program is generated through the Co-ops membership. Members agree to round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar, resulting in about $40,000 per year.

A five-member board meets every quarter to allocate the money. Not all applicants are funded. To apply, the individual or organization must be within Northern Plains Electric Cooperative service areas. Membership is not required and the deadline to apply is May 29th. Click here for more information.
