N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City girls tennis players Clarissa Olson and Reagan Ingstad came into the state doubles bracket as the champs in the Eastern Dakota Conference and they didn’t disappoint in the state tournament in Minot. 

Olson and Ingstad went all the way to the championship match, where they would eventually fall 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 against Maddie Anderson and Alexis Caoili of Grand Forks Red River. 

Samantha Coit and Maia Wendel entered the state tournament as the 7th seed from the EDC for Valley City. They won their opening round match before falling in the quarterfinal’s and in the consolation bracket. 

Hi-Liner head coach Matt Nielsen was named State Girls Tennis Co-Coach of the Year. 

Olson and Ingstad were named to the All-State Girls Tennis Team, with Olson being a nominee for Senior Athlete of the Year as well. 

The Hi-Liner girls tennis team finished fifth at state on Friday with a 4-1 win over Minot.
