N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The driver of the tanker truck that rolled on Highway 20 near Jamestown on May 26th has been identified as 58 year-old Daniel Peterson of Jamestown.

According to Stutsman County Deputy Matt Thom, Peterson was fatally injured when he rolled his tanker with 8,500 gallons of diesel fuel on Highway 20 roughly 6 miles north of Jamestown. It was observed that the right tire went off the roadway while negotiating a curve and while returning to the road, the load shifted and the tanker rolled.

The tanker leaked some diesel fuel and an unknown amount was lost. The State Health Department was notified and worked with CHS’s Environmental specialist from Minot on the clean up.
