(NewsDakota.com) – After getting rained out on Thursday the Jamestown High baseball team played twice on Friday as the tournament attempted to get back on schedule. The Jays played their opening round game against West Fargo and lost 9-1, before losing their consolation game to Shanley 5-1.

Packers stater Ben Strahm held the Jays in check offensively as did Luke Sandy of Shanley. The Jays managed just two unearned runs in the two games and only three hits combined.

Strahm took a no-hitter into the fifth before Peyton Walker broke it up with a base hit. Sandy didn’t allow a hit in the shortened five-inning game.

Jamestown will play Century in the 7th place game today at 11:30 on 103.1 FM & NewsDakota.com. The Patriots lost to Minot 10-7 after leading 7-4 in the fourth.
