Wegenast, 60, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at her home in Tucson.

Janet was born on January 2, 1955, in Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Wilbert and Margaret (Ostby) Wegenast. She grew up in Edgeley and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1973. Jan attended Valley City State College, majoring in art. She lived in Estes Park, CO for many years and then moved to Tucson to work as a vocation rehabilitation counselor. Jan enjoyed continuing her artistic activities as well as hiking and fishing.

Jan is survived by her son, Kyle Wilbert Wegenast, Tucson; mother, Margaret Wegenast, Edgeley; sisters, Sharon (Don) Dowell, Volcano, CA and Carol Wegenast, Mountain View, CA; aunt, Karolina Wegenast, Edgeley and uncle, Milton (Ione) Ostby, LaMoure, ND; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Wegenast.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, with Rev. Alan Eppen officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Interment: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Edgeley, ND.
