N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  New Rockford Post 30 would rally for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull within one run, but Patrick Freeman would relieve Braxton Hewitt and get three outs for the save as Post 25 holds on and gets the 8-7 victory last night in Central Region play.  Carrington remains in first place in the Central Region at 7-1, New Rockford is 2-4 and in sixth place.  

At the plate for Carrington, left fielder Seth Abaurrea was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and scored a run.  There was only one Post 25 batter without a hit last night, Freeman was 0-for-4.  Hewitt picked up the victory working six innings, six runs, seven hits, five strikeouts and six walks.  Josh McNight was the losing pitcher working five innings, five hits, eight runs, five walks and no strikeouts.  Kaleb Haley had a great night, going 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI for Post 30.

Post 25 was also in action over the weekend at the Minot Vista’s Invitational, going 3-2 and placing third.  Last Friday, Carrington lost to Eden Prairie, M.N. 7-1 and beat the Minot Metros 9-1.  On Saturday, Carrington beat Sidney, Montana by 8-run rule in six innings 11-2.  Sunday, the last day of the three day tourney, Carrington beat Watford City 9-1 by 8-run rule and lost to the Minot Vistas 9-5.  The Minot Vistas won the tourney over Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
