FARGO, ND – The West Fargo school board has voted to re-instate suspended West Fargo high school teacher Aaron Knodel.  The decision was made after a former student asked that Knodel be kept out of the classroom.  She’d accused him of having a sexual relationship with her about six years ago when she was a 17 year-old senior.  Maggie Wilken told the board, she’ll never be the same.

Her mother Arlene Wilken.

Mike Geyermann is a lawyer for North Dakota United, the state teacher’s union.

Knodel’s suspension has been lifted, he’ll given back-pay and offered a job with the district in the upcoming school year according to Superintendent David Flowers.

He said the West Fargo school district will also work at the local or state level to improve ethics training for teachers.
