N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is informing motorists of the influx of motorcyclist through North Dakota that can be expected in the coming days.

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota and will take place August 3rd through the 9th. Lt. Thomas Iverson with the North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that motorists can expect to see a lot more motorcycles on the road.

The standard route for bikers to take tend to be highways and Interstates, but can also take scenic byways. Motorists who encounter large groups of bikes are asked to remain patient, use turn signals and keep a safe following distance. Lt. Iverson also points out that there are rules for motorcyclists as well when they share the road with motorists.
