N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s been nearly a month since a study conducted by Valley City State University has found Zebra Mussel along the Red River.

Since then, biologists are worried about the invasive species spreading. With the Red River constantly changing and flowing, the spread is altogether more imminent and the possibility of Metro water supplies could be affected as well.

North Dakota Game and Fish Biologist Doug Leier stated that it’s not only fisherman affected by the invasive species.

Leier also pointed out that the only way the spread will be stopped is if individuals follow a few simple steps.

Although biologists have yet to find more zebra mussel in the river, Leier stated that there’s still the possibility for them to be there.
