CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Education Association and the Valley City School District signed off on a one year contract agreement that both sides believe is a good compromise.

The agreement includes increasing the base for incoming teachers by $1,500. That moves the starting salary to $37,206. Health insurance remains the same under the agreement but teachers lost two personal leave days.

Superintendent Dean Koppelman believes the set-up of the new negotiating process it a good one.

Koppelman praised all the negotiators.

The agreement was officially ratified by members of the Valley City Education Association and the Valley City School board during their annual board meeting on July 30.

Also at the annual meeting Rick Ross was honored for his term on the school board and Rich Schuenman was sworn in as a new school board member.
