CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) North Dakota U-S Senator Heidi Heitkamp is concerned about congressional apathy toward restoring funding  for the Export Import Bank. She said it will negatively impact manufacturers like John Deere Seeding in Valley City and other companies in the U-S if funding isn’t restored.

Heitkamp spoke with Ingstad Family Media reporter Steve Urness on his Voice of the Valley program this week. She explained why she supports restoring the funding that she says is beneficial for overseas trading. Heitkamp is co-sponsoring a bill to restore the funding for the Export Import bank.

Later in this interview Heitkamp said the U-S Clean Water Rule scheduled to be implemented on August 28 is the biggest overreach in EPA history.

She said it will have a negative impact on farming and ranching. She is co-sponsoring a bill in the Senate to place an amendment in the rule.

The state of North Dakota and several other states are seeking a court ordered injunction against implementing the U-S Clean Water Rule.
