CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Marketplace Food is celebrating their 75th anniversary and the stores major remodeling project. The area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate on September 1. Owner Keith Johanneson said the new store will be saving a lot of electricity.

Johanneson said the construction growth in Valley City has help spur their decision to remodel and expand their properties.

Valley City store manager Cindy Waagen said customers have complimented them on the store expansion.

The company plans to remodel and expand Marketplace liquors at its current location in the strip mall just north of the store.

And a new gas station and convenience store at the intersection of Main & Central is still in the planning stage.
