Anderson was born on July 24, 1918 in Nortonville, North Dakota. She was the youngest of three children of James W. and Sina Hickey. After graduating from High School in Nortonville, she attended College in Ellendale, ND and then worked in the ASC office in Lamoure, ND.

She married Alvin Anderson of Marion, North Dakota on April 5, 1943 in Prescott, Idaho while he was in the Marine Corps. While Alvin was in the Marines, they lived briefly in Logan, UT, San Francisco, CA and Quantico, Virginia. After the war, they lived briefly in Marion, ND and then moved to the Hickey Farm near Nortonville where they farmed in partnership with her brother, James. In 1961 they moved to LaMoure, ND where they owned and operated the Gamble Store until 1975. After Alvin passed away in 1978, she worked at the LaMoure Chronicle office in LaMoure for 4 years. In 1992 she moved to Jamestown, ND, and has resided at Ave Maria Village since April 2014.

Pearl liked to sew and made a lot of clothes for her children, nieces and nephews. She was a member of the local homemakers group, a 4-H leader, a den mother for cub scouts, and was very active in church groups. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and pinochle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James M. Hickey; sister, Marion Barnick, and nephew, Roy Barnick.

She is survived by her daughter Linda (Mark) Stone, Kanab, UT; son, Dale (Mary) Anderson, Reno, NV; grandchildren, Kelsey Stone, Reno, NV, Austin Dunham, Anne Dunham, and Kate Smith, all of San Francisco, CA; one great granddaughter, Fey Stone, San Francisco; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral.

Interment: Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, ND.
