N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City has the best tasting tap water in North Dakota.  Valley City’s H2O beat out samples from Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Lisbon, Mayville, and Wahpeton during the Drinking Water Taste Test at the 87th annual North Dakota Water & Pollution Control Conference in Bismarck. 

Conference attendees selected Bismarck, Mayville, and Valley City as the top three contenders in a blind taste test.  Warner Palermo, Vice President of the American Water Works Association (AWWA); Eileen O’Neil, Executive Director of the Water Environment Federation (WEF); and Scott Hennen, Radio talk show host served as celebrity judges.

The ND chapter of the AWWA puts on the Drinking Water Taste Test during the North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference each year.  Past winners include Fargo (2014), Medina (2013), Mayville (2012), Fargo (2011), Mayville (2010), Valley City (2009), Enderlin (2008), Grand Forks (2007), and Minot (2006)

The North Dakota Water & Pollution Control Conference is a joint effort of the North Dakota Section of the AWWA, North Dakota Section of the Water Environment Association (WEA), North Dakota Section of the American Public Works Association (APWA), and North Dakota Chapter of the North American Stormwater & Erosion Control Association (NASECA).
