CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A fire destroyed a boat and other items inside a farm shed on the Thomsen farm northwest of Valley City on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Barnes Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger said flames were shooting out of the shed when he arrived on the scene. No other structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Fiebiger said the preliminary cause of the fire appears to have been sparked by a torch in the shed. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation with the Valley City Rural Fire Department.
