CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Students helped collect non-perishable food items to fill the selves of the Barnes County Food Pantry just before the holidays on November 20.

Students from the Valley City High School and the Maple Valley School District collected non-perishable food items and cash donations to help families in need during the annual Stuff-A-Truck campaign.

VCHS Student Counsel Advisor Penny Peterson said some 3,917 food items were collected for the Barnes County Food Pantry this year and more than $2,200 in cash donations were collected for the food pantry.

Peterson said thanked everyone who supported the VCHS Student Council’s Stuff a Truck Food Drive this year.

She said if you missed out on the donation drive, you can always drop off donations to the Barnes Count Food Pantry located in the Barnes County Senior Center.

Peterson said the check for $2,200 will be dropped off at the Food Pantry on Wednesday, December 2nd.

The event was sponsored by Marketplace Foods, The Coca-Cola Company, Valley City Public Schools, The Times-Record, KOVC Radio and Q101 Radio.
