N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The spirit of love and giving is alive at the Jamestown Regional Correction Center.

Although some of the prison inmates may not have someone that cares about them, that didn’t stop them from caring about others.

So with the blessing of prison officials three inmates were able to share that love and giving spirit with those who might not be able to afford Christmas gifts.

The inmates used their $2 per day earnings to buy beads, thread, crosses and other supplies to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Barnes County Salvation Army spokesman Lee Isensee said the inmates hope that others can feel the love of God that God has shown them. He said the inmates donated the items they worked on for months to the Salvation Army for distribution to people in need.

Isensee said these are good people that made some bad choices and it is because of God’s love for them that they are able to show that love to others they don’t even know. Isensee said this is truly the true meaning of Christmas.

Below is the jewelry Jamestown inmates worked on for months to finish.
