N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Music Awards of 2016 categories have been announced and it has been found that a local educator has been nominated for an award.

Mr. Ken Aune, Instrumental Music Educator at the Jamestown Middle School, has been nominated for the “Favorite Music Educator” of the year award. Mr. Aune conducts band for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Music Booster President Michelle Weatherly stated that the kids love and respect him. They can vote for just Mr. Aune or all the other categories if they’d like.

The North Dakota Music Awards is described as “Like the Grammy’s meet the AMA’s; North Dakota Style. It’s a way to celebrate and honor North Dakota Musicians in all genres of music.” The event will be February 13th at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in Bismarck, ND.
