(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown girls basketball team finished off the season sweep of Bismarck High at Jerry Meyer Arena on Tuesday night. They needed overtime to do so, but Meghan Orr played the part of the hero as her team won their 8th game of the year. Jamestown knocked off Bismarck 69-66 in OT.

The teams went into halftime tied at 26 and into overtime tied at 63. In the extra session, Orr hit a three to give her team the early lead. She then came away with two steals in the final 30 seconds to seal the win. Her first steal lead to a pair of Megan Gaffaney free throws to put the Jays up four and the second one ended the Demons last change to tie the game as the clock ran out.

Gaffaney lead the Jays with 19. Orr added 11. The girls are at Minot on Friday.

The Jamestown boys battled the Demons down to the wire, but as been the case in a few close loses to the top teams in the WDA, they ran out of gas in the final four minutes. Jamestown lost 76-65. They had cut the lead to 55-54 before Bismarck went on one final run and ran the lead to double figures.

Noah Wanzek had 27 points and 15 rebounds in the loss. The Blue Jay boys are at Minot on Thursday.
