FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Grand Forks Red River started the game on a 9-0 run and never relinquished the lead over Valley City.

The Roughriders would go on to win 73-52 over the Hi-Liners in a two-point Eastern Dakota Conference boys basketball game on Tuesday night.

Braedan Hanson scored a game-high 26 points for Red River (11-6 overall, 11-5 EDC), while Hunter Burchill paced Valley City with 19 points (8-9 overall, 7-10 EDC).

The Hi-Liners are back on the court on Friday night down in Wahpeton at 7:30 p.m.

GFRR: Hanson, 26, Miller 13, Slaughter 9, Dennis 9, Polynice 6, Robtertson 5, Rowekamp 5.

Girls Game – GFRR 67 – VC 41

Grand Forks Red River limited the Valley City Hi-Liners to 15 first half points in an Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball contest.

The Roughriders (14-2 overall, 13-2 EDC) had 10 players score in the game and were led by Lexi Robson with 21 points. 

Courtney Lloyd had a game-high 13 points for Valley City (0-17 overall, 0-17 EDC).

The Hi-Liners host the Wahpeton Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday inside the Hi-Liner Activities Center.
