N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A goal that the Jamestown Music Boosters had since their inception in 2008 has been achieved.

The Boosters are responsible for raising funds to benefit the music departments of Jamestown Public Schools. President Michelle Weatherly stated that the group had the goal of purchasing new acoustic shells when they started back in 2008.

The group reached out to Superintendent Robert Lech and proposed a deal.

The Boosters have since raised their portion of the needed $14,800 and given it to the schools to purchase new shells. Weatherly estimates the shells will be purchased and potentially in use by Spring 2016. The Boosters will continue to raise funds for the music department in the Jamestown School District with their annual “Music to Warm The Heart” on Sunday, February 21st.
