CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The Open Door Center is expanding employment opportunities for their clients thanks to the expansion of two local businesses connected to the center in Valley City.

Kay Metcalf of Thunderbird Ranch Gourmet Foods says the company is expanding their production line that will include gluten free foods.

Tiffany Kearns of Amberland Dakota Seasonings says sales of their Pride of Dakota labeled food products continue to increase.

Kearns says the two companies employ 10 to 20 people now with plans to hire more in the future.

Valley City Building Inspector Dave Andersen says production hours will be from 8am to 6pm.

A conditional use permit for the businesses was approved by the Valley City commission last week.

Kearns and Metcalf say the expansion project is estimated to be completed later this year.
