CITY, N.D. (VCSU) – Valley City State University (N.D.) volleyball coach Adam Longmore announced today that Meagan Schwarzrock from Hutchinson, Minn., has signed a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic careers at VCSU.

A 5-foot-6 setter, Schwarzrock recorded 899 assists last season as she helped Hutchinson High School to a 27-4 record and the Wright County Conference championship.

“We spent time watching probably 100 setters in the 2016 class, and we could not be happier with signing Meagan,” said Longmore. “She comes from a successful high school program in Hutchinson and has played a lot of years of club volleyball. Her experience makes her ready to come in and help us out right away in the setting position.”

Schwarzrock leaves Hutchinson as the all-time assist leader in school history. She was named All Conference and Academic All State after her senior season, and was named honorable mention All Conference in 2014.

“Meagan is a nice athlete and does very well for her size,” said Longmore. “She moves around the court well and is able to put up good balls both in and out of system. She is coachable, works hard, and has a great attitude. I knew Meagan was a player we wanted to have in our program.”

Schwarzrock is the daughter of Greg and Mary Schwarzrock. She plans to study exercise science at VCSU.

Valley City State University volleyball is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and a conference member of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA).
