N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Students at different Universities have teamed up for a similar cause: To bring water to Flint, Michigan.

Flint has been in the midst of a water crisis since April 2014 and have been unable to use primary water sources due to water contamination. University of Jamestown student Colt Mavity heard of this issue and decided to spring into action.

Mavity is teaming up with students from Dickinson and the University of North Dakota to drive water to Flint in order to help with the current water crisis. Mavity stated that he was inspired by former NBA player Rasheed Wallace.

Mavity will traveling Thursday, February 18th to Flint, filling his vehicle and other students vehicles with water in Michigan. They’ll then finish their trip in Flint, donating the water to those in need. Mavity pointed out that he hopes it shows individuals that we’re all here to help when others are in need.
