CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Barnes Rural Water District was recognized for it safe drinking water by the North Dakota Department of Health earlier this month.

Barnes Rural Water District manager Perry Kapaun says the certificate of achievement is attributed to his hard working employees and is also a great benefit to rural water users.

The city of Valley City also received a certificate of achievement for providing safe drinking water to their residents earlier this year.

The Safe Drinking Water Act was passed by Congress in 1974 to protect and regulate the nation’s public drinking water supplies.
