CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Valley City officials are looking at three options following public input from several neighborhood flood control meetings earlier this year.

KLJ Engineer Eric Gilbertson says the flood task force is trying to determine what is best for the city of Valley City and its residents.

Task force member George Gaulker says downtown is the most critical area of the city to protect and should be a major focus of this project.

Task force member Madeline Luke expressed her concern about the height of the future flood walls and how they may affect the beauty of the city.

The city flood task force is looking at three options: Do nothing, build clay levees or build concrete flood walls.
