FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This morning at 9:01 a.m., a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper stopped a speeding vehicle traveling south on I-29 between the 32nd Ave and 52nd Ave exits in Fargo. During the traffic stop, the vehicle was searched and a homemade pipe bomb was discovered in the glove box.

Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind reports that the Red River Valley Bomb Squad responded to the scene and safely retrieved and transported the explosive device to a secure location.

The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Mitchael Leroy Anderson of Fargo, was arrested for the following offenses:

-Felony possession of an explosive
-Misdemeanor driving under suspension
-Possession of marijuana
-Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
