N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A group is working to distribute more information on the upcoming elementary school vote in Carrington.

The Cardinal Vote Yes committee has dedicated their efforts and time giving information to those who want to know more about the upcoming special elementary school vote. President of the committee Dennis Freeman pointed out that the committee is dedicated to figuring out how to get the special referendum passed.

Freeman stated that the original plan had been reduced in order to make the project more affordable.

Residents will have two questions on the ballots. The first question will approve the building to be added to the High School and needs a 60% margin to pass, the second needs 50% and is to approve or disapprove of the payment option for the school. Freeman is hopeful that they receive a voter turnout that was just as good as the first.

Freeman says it will be an affordable addition to the community, pointing out that those who own a $100,000 home will only be required to pay $20 a month. The vote will be Tuesday, May 24th at the Carrington Elementary School Gym. Those who want to vote absentee need to contact the school for more information.
