N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A busy past few weeks for the Jamestown City Fire Department according to the recent run report.

Fire Chief Jim Reuther states that it’s been a busy past few weeks, and the call report shows it. According to the latest run report, the department has responded to 23 calls between May 13th and June 2nd.

Some of the calls responded to include removal of a child from a swing set on May 17th, a garage fire on May 21st, and the natural gas line leak on June 2nd. You can find the full run report including dates, times, and descriptions of each call below.

Call No. 101 May 16th, 4:38PM, ready squad responded to 2404 Circle Drive, NDSH-Tompkins Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-steam. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 105 May 18th, 11:40AM, fire department responded to 523 4th Ave SE, Trinity Lutheran Church, to investigate strange odor. Firefighters checked the building and detected nothing. MDU was called to the scene so they could check for natural gas. Cause-unknown. Time out 35 minutes.

Call No. 106 May 11th, 7:30PM, fire department responded to the area of the 300 Block of 13th Ave SW, to a report of a grass fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 107 May 19th, 12:43PM, ready squad responded to 2430 20th St SW, Essentia Health Clinic, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-alarm company testing the system. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 108 May 20th, 5:10PM, fire department responded to 720 2nd Ave SW, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of a fire on the front porch of the home. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-discarded smoking materials. No injuries reported. Time out 40 minutes.

Call No. 109 May 21st, 9:13PM, fire department responded to 814 17th St NE, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of a garage fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Most probable cause-oven range in the garage accidentally turned on. No injuries reported. Time out 3 hours 30 minutes.
