N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Four Carrington women received a total of $5,850 in scholarships during the Miss North Dakota Scholarship Pageant in Williston, North Dakota June 11th.

Miss Carrington, Bailey Shumann, was awarded a top ten semi finalist award ($850), the Miss America Community Service Scholarship ($1,000), the Rogness Theater Arts Award ($200), the Blake Bohnsak Memorial Scholarship ($50) and the Youth On Stage Award ($25). She performed an original dramatic monologue, “Train of Thoughts” and promoted her platform, ” ‘Mind’ Your Health- Understanding Mental Health”. A junior at MSU Moorhead, she is the daughter of Alison & Shane Schumann.

Miss KDAK, Miranda Peterson, was awarded the Miss ND Participation Scholarship ($800), the Non-Finalist High Score Talent Award ($200), Non-Finalist High Score Dancer Award ($200), The Bohnsak Memorial ($50) and the YOS Award ($25). She performed a lyrical dance to “Dare You To Move Like A Girl” and promoted her platform, “Spread Harmony Through Harmony: The Power of Music”. A senior at MSU Moorhead, she is the daughter of Barb and Randy Peterson.

Miss Upper Missouri Valley, Savanna Buskness, was awarded the Miss ND Participation Scholarship ($800), the Miracle Maker Award ($200), the Program Book Incentive Award ($300), the Bohnsak Memorial Award ($50) and the YOS Award ($25). She performed a vocal solo, “Butterfly Fly Away” and promoted her platform, “Quit the BS- Putting a Stop to Body Shaming”. A sophomore at UND, she is the daughter of Karen & Robert Buskness.

Miss Rugby, Sabrina Wolfe, was awarded the Miss ND Participation Scholarship ($800), the Non-Finalist High Score Evening Wear Award ($200), the Bohnsak Memorial Award ($50) and the YOS Award ($25). She performed a lyrical dance to “Skyscraper” and promoted her platform, “Beyond Celiac Disease: You Are More Than Your Disease”. A sophomore at NDSU, she is the daughter of Angie Wolfe and Dave Wolfe.

Miss Grand Forks, Macy Christianson, was crowned Miss North Dakota 2016. She is a native of Minot and a junior at NDSU. She perfomed a contemporary en pointe ballet to “Skyfall” and promoted her platform, “You Decide the Road Ahead”. She will represent North Dakota at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in Atlantic City, NJ in September.
