N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Nasty storms rolled through central North Dakota early Friday morning and caused some extensive damage.

At around 6 AM, Bismarck National Weather Service reported severe thunderstorms entering the area. Foster County Emergency Manager Jess Earle states that she’s assessed some of the damage that has occurred around Carrington.

Foster County Sheriff Ian Mattice has been traveling to surrounding communities and surveying the damages in those areas. Power outages were reported in Carrington, McHenry and Grace City. Earle stated that she will be collecting pictures and stories to send to the National Weather Service so they can determine what caused all the damage.

Some wind speeds reached upwards of 80 mph and some pea-sized hail was reported in other areas.

Earle says if you have property damage or photos to contact her at 701-652-2252.
