N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council said their final farewells to Charlie Kourajian during his last meeting as a city councilman.

On Tuesday, June 28th, the city council held a special meeting to address some items and swear in the new council members. Several items were approved and discussed including the approval of Economic Development Funds for the overlay of the road from I-94 Exit 269 to 1 mile north and the drainage concerns at the Jamestown Youth for Christ Building.

At the end of the meeting, Mayor Katie Andersen took time to address the fact that Charlie Kourajian was leaving the council after more than 40 years as service to Jamestown.

Charlie joked that he would still be around to open up the time capsule in 2040. His last motion as councilman was to adjourn the meeting Sine Die.

Councilwoman Pam Phillips was later sworn in along with current Councilmen Dan Buchanan and Steve Brubakken.
