N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown School Resource Officer and Policeman Andrew Staska recently completed his D.A.R.E. Instructor certification.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger stated that with Staska’s completion of the D.A.R.E program, he will be able to provide training to all the students in the Jamestown Public School District.

Staska became the School Resource Officer after Officer Nick Hardy resigned from the position in December 2015. Chief Edinger pointed out that when an officer becomes a School Resource Officer, they’re sent by the department to several different training’s.

Edinger says the D.A.R.E. program that Staska will be instructing kids with has changed over time.

Staska also received the “Spirit of Daren” award for being the best to display the character and enthusiasm in the D.A.R.E. program. You can click here to read the original story of Officer Hardy resigning from the SRO position.
