“Gen” Zimprich, 94, of Cooperstown, ND, formally of rural Jessie, ND, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, ND.

Genevieve Marion Boisjolie was born May 18, 1922 on a farm near Sutton, ND to Adolph and Olive (Denis) Boisjolie.  She attended Kingsley school in Griggs County and graduated from Sutton High School, Sutton, ND.  She met the love of her life, Bernard Zimprich, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jessie, ND.  Gen and Bernard were married there October 26, 1943 and were faithful members the rest of their lives.  You would find them in their spot in the front pew each Sunday morning.  Gen was a very active member of the St. Lawrence Altar Society.

Gen was “famous” for her donuts!  At one time, she was making at least 80 dozen a week, and that’s not counting the misfits.  Quilting was another thing she was known for.  Many people had the pleasure of getting one of them as a gift.  She may have spent hours baking and sewing but there was always time for dancing.  She and Bernard covered many miles on the dance floors across the state.

Gen is survived by sons: Dave (Judy), Cooperstown, ND, Ron (Cheryl), Fargo, ND, Russ (Vicki), Cooperstown, ND, Don (Eunice), Cooperstown, ND, and Neil (Loretta), Rathdrum, ID; daughters: Shirley (Larry) Hanson, Mayville, ND, and Evy (Randy) Ressler, Cooperstown, ND; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister: Florence Gagner of Seattle, WA; and sisters-in-law Helen Boisjolie of Enumclaw, WA and Beatrice Anderson of Spanaway, WA, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years, Bernard; infant daughter, Mary Beth; and brothers: Ray, Wayne, Francis (Bud) and Dale.
