CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) As Valley City begins to enter phase III of the flood buyout process focusing on permanent flood protection for the city and a few changes are in store.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph gave an update about the buyout process and talked about some of the proposals that are on the table as city officials and local citizens provide input on the direction the city should pursue.

He says the city’s main focus is to protect the downtown business district in the next phase of permanent flood protection.

Earlier this year the city held a number of public input meetings that focused on specific neighborhoods in the city. Schelkoph says more public input meetings centering on permanent flood protection will be announced in the future.
