N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Valley Library System Board approved plans that will be used for future expansion of the Alfred Dickey Library.

Development Director Bill Kennedy released a fact sheet highlighting several projects that the board could do.

“The board approved plan is for renovations of Alfred Dickey Library and its expansion,” Kennedy states in an e-mail. “[These projects] will serve Jamestown and Stutsman County for the next 100 years.”

Kennedy reports that JLG Architects provided several outlines and project details with cost estimates around $7.4 million for all projects. According to documents, it appears the library will expand North into the Marantha Building and later into the Maple Mall.

There are no immediate plans to implement the option at this time.
